- CELEBRATED commissioning of 280 MW at two Power Africa-supported wind farms in South Africa, developed by Power Africa partner Enel
Improved electricity access to 37.7 MILLION people
- DELIVERED first-time and improved electricity access to 37.7 MILLION people through 7.6 MILLION new on- and off-grid connections to homes and businesses
MOBILIZED $234 million in investment and advisory support
- MOBILIZED $234 million in investment and advisory support to help off-grid solar companies gain access to finance and secure capital for growth
ADVANCED South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Program
- ADVANCED South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Program by training 64 municipal leaders, including 34 women, in energy leadership and economic decarbonization
SPURRED regional electricity trade via a 200 MW in East Africa
- SPURRED regional electricity trade via a 200 MW cross-border agreement between Ethiopia and Kenya and a new transmission line connecting Rwanda and Uganda
LAUNCHED the U.S.-Africa Clean Tech Energy Network CTEN
- LAUNCHED the U.S.-Africa Clean Tech Energy Network CTEN aims to facilitate up to $350 million in deals within the first five years
INITIATED the Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance
- INITIATED the Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance to electrify and digitally connect 10,000 health facilities
AVOIDED 7.7 MILLION tons of CO2 emissions
