To learn more please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gggi.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">about GGGI<\/a>&nbsp;web page.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GGGI\u2019s Green Investment Services (GIS) unit supports emerging economies to bridge the sustainable development investment gap by developing bankable projects, national financing vehicles and risk reducing instruments to mobilize national and international climate finance. The GIS unit delivers its work by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Developing and maintaining a pipeline of bankable green growth projects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performing the role of an \u201carranger\u201d, that is, designing and structuring commercially viable projects that attract climate finance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structuring financial solutions that blend public\/ concessional finance and commercial\/private finance in order to reduce risk and consequently help position public and private parties with commercially viable project structures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designing innovative financial mechanisms often in the form of funds and instruments that reduce and possibly mitigate risks and overcome other barriers specific to green growth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing dedicated vehicles (National Financing Vehicles) capable of blending international and domestic sources of capital for financing green growth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prioritizing projects and instruments that are impactful and are catalytic, i.e. they mitigate risk sufficiently to pave the way for private investment in the sector;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designing innovative public finance instruments to help developing countries raise long-term concessional finance, including thematic bonds and debt for nature\/climate swaps;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrating social and environmental considerations into projects, valuing and monetizing natural assets where possible, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advising partner countries on the development of their investment plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 2017 and 2022 GIS successfully mobilized USD 7 billion dollars in national and international climate finance towards GGGI\u2019s member countries\u2019 NDC and SDG goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"PURPOSE_Junior_Professional_Program_JPO_%E2%80%93_Green_Investment_Services_%E2%80%93_Global_Green_Growth_Institute_GGGI\"><\/span>PURPOSE: Junior Professional Program (JPO) &#8211; Green Investment Services &#8211; Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based in Mexico City, Mexico or Bogot\u00e1, Colombia ,&nbsp; the JPO will support the origination, design and structuring of investment projects, concept notes and funding proposals to mobilize international climate finance for resilient, low-carbon development in Latin America and Caribbean countries.&nbsp;This position reports to the GGGI&nbsp; Regional Director for LAC and will work closely with Green Investment Officers and Sustainable Finance Officers across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ENGAGEMENT\"><\/span><strong>ENGAGEMENT<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with investment and sustainable finance officers across the region to support investment mobilization efforts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support deal team in the engagement with multi-lateral development banks and international climate funds\u2019 accredited entities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage with GGGI country teams to provide on-demand financial advisory and strengthen GIS portfolio development efforts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the engagement with third-party capital providers to secure co-financing for GIS projects portfolio;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with entry and mid-level public and private finance sector counterparts (e.g. financial institutions, project developers, banking and multilateral partners and government officials);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize and deliver consultation and validation workshops to validate products and activities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate to GGGI-wide events to create awareness about GGGI-LAC GIS work and activities;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DELIVERY\"><\/span><strong>DELIVERY<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Origination: identify, assess and prepare the business case for new investment opportunities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project structuring: apply specialized finance skills to develop and\/or improve financial models and projections; The experience can include internships, volunteering, and unpaid assignments.
