UNICEF Health program is designed to support national health priorities with focus on programs that will positively impact on the lives of the most disadvantaged children, such as the prevention and treatment of diseases through establishing community-level efforts and services to promote the health and well-being of children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In line with this strategy, UNICEF supports immunization and health prevention programs for childhood diseases and funding for sustainable health services. We are therefore seeking a numerate analyst with a knowledge of environmental issues to conduct a \u2018deep-dive\u2019 into all the numerous existing data sources, studies and surveys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By closely assessing the nature of the impact of climate change on different sectoral aspects of our programming \u2013 health, nutrition, WASH, education and child protection, this will improve our understanding of the impacts of floods, desertification and environmental pollution \u2013plastic waste crisis, indoor air pollution &#8211; on children\u2019s rights across Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ufeff<a href=\"https:\/\/solareyesinternational.com\/isdb-open-positions-for-october-check-and-apply\/\">IsDB Open Positions for October \u2013 Check and APPLY!<\/a><span data-rich-text-placeholder=\"Type \/ to choose a block or \/\/ to use Content AI\" contenteditable=\"false\" style=\"pointer-events:none;user-select:none;-webkit-user-select:none;-moz-user-select:none;-ms-user-select:none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of this work is to enhance our understanding of the geographical spread of climate-related impacts and to identify \u2018hotspot locations\u2019 of vulnerability, eg for climate -related migration, with high incidences of impacts to children and their access to services \u2013 such as child and maternal health, education and child protection concerns (attendance, dropouts, interruptions to learning, learning outcomes, vaccinations, unattended childbirth etc) to improve our programmatic targeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst the Climate Analyst would be located within the WASH section in Abuja, his\/her work would cover all sectors managed by the office. The work can include field visits as necessary to build evidence and corroborate findings. Deep-dive review of all data sources eg MICS, deprivation analysis, health and education man\u0002agement systems, WASHNORM etc for evidence of the impact of climate-related events on child well-being in Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Support design of climate smart solutions in WASH, Health, Education, Nutrition programmes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Support monitoring of implementation of Climate resilient solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Contributing to developing and testing hypothesis for improving climate resilience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Supporting other climate-related activities of the office as necessary eg advocacy events, youth mobilisation activities etc <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Abuja is a modern and well developed city, with a hot climate and most amenities you would expect eg restaurants, cinemas etc. The majority of staff live in apartments or houses in shared premises or compounds with good security and services such as air conditioners and generators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transport is primarily by private car, whilst there are also several taxi apps (eg Uber) commonly used.
