The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IEA operates as an autonomous body within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Both the OECD and the IEA seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Energy Demand Outlook team\u2019s main publication is the annual World Energy Outlook (WEO) report. This report, produced each year, provides an assessment of the medium- and long-term prospects for energy markets worldwide and their broader implications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the report is to provide policymakers, industry, academia, and civil society alike with a rigorous quantitative framework to deepen understanding of the drivers of possible future energy trends and evaluating the impact of government policies to tackle energy-related challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
