RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational Micro-Grid Training (Fully Funded)

RES4Africa Foundation, together with its partners Strathmore University, AVSI Foundation, and St. Kizito VTI, and with the support of knowledge partner Enel Foundation, is launching the 31st edition of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School. The training sessions will be held entirely in person from the 23rd to the 27th of October 2023.

This edition will focus on Module 2: DRE site selection and engineering of its training on photovoltaic and mini-grid systems and aims to provide students with a comprehensive overview of a wide set of technical topics (i.e., site selection in the context of renewable mini-grids, site assessment, inverter-chargers for off-grid systems, battery technologies and their configurations, and more.).

RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational Micro-Grid Training (Fully Funded)

The target beneficiaries will comprise 25 participants, among them students, technicians, operators, managers, entrepreneurs and other RE professionals from all African states, particularly Kenya and East Africa. Applicants under 30 and women of any age are particularly encouraged to apply.

The course will be held physically at Strathmore Energy Research Centre (SERC) and ST. Kizito VTI in Nairobi, Kenya, with possible field visits and additional practical training at other partners’ facilities also in Nairobi. Additionally, in-person classes will be complemented by online sessions led by international experts.

How Can Solar Energy Installations Be More Ecofriendly?

Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of attendance will be granted to the trainees who have attended at least 70% of the total amount of training hours, and successfully completed the final exam and survey.

To register, applicants are required to fill out the application form, uploading their CV and letter of motivation in pdf format, and sending a notification email to [email protected] or [email protected] .

For this course, RES4Africa Foundation, thanks to the support of Enel Foundation, will grant 15 scholarships to early applicants according to their profile, academic and professional background, and motivation.
