As we work towards our vision for a solar-powered planet, we need a creative and talented university student to join our mechanical design team as a Mechanical Engineer Intern in Austin, Texas. Join us on our mission!

Internship timeframe: Fall 2023 Internship (approx. 12+ weeks sometime between July and December 2023)

Internship Responsibilities: Mechanical Engineer Intern – Enphase, Austin, TX, United States

Mechanical design of components and assemblies supervised by Sr./Staff Mechanical engineers

  • Producing detailed drawings
  • Hands-on building prototype parts/assemblies for mechanical design concept validation
  • Conducting mechanical DVT testing
  • Continuous improving mechanical DVT test efficiency such as introducing test automation.

Minimum Qualifications: Mechanical Engineer Intern – Enphase, Austin, TX, United States

University student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Strong academic performance preferred.

  • Experience with or exposure to Solidworks
  • Experience with or exposure to Injection Molding, Sheet metal, 3D printing, and CNC Machining processes 
  • Possess excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Demonstrate accuracy and precision in your work


What would make you stand out? 

  • Experience using tools such as Solidworks Simulation for FEA and/or thermal analysis
  • Experience verifying studies with real-life testing
  • Experience with consumer products 
  • Experience with Top-down modeling strategies such as Master Modeling 
  • Experience with Solidworks PDM
  • Experience with Test Automation
