Main purpose of the Role:

This position, under general direction of the Head of the ECoE , is responsible for providing engineering support in project development, energy yield assessments, design, contract management and procurement, bid preparations and asset management.

The role includes support and training from senior staff and will provide exposure to some of the most exciting projects on the continent across solar, wind and battery storage technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
The opportunity and role will cover a diverse set of topics and provide exposure and training across some or all of the scope covered in the team including:

Project Development:

– Supporting a senior S&D engineer with various tasks relating to environmental approvals, project appeals, sizing, site selection etc.
– Conducting site visits.
– Consolidation of GIS information.
– Any other transversal tasks as required.

Energy Yield Assessment:

– The technical assessment and interpretation of wind and solar resources
– Manage the configurations, procurement and maintenance of data collection equipment/services.
– Fulfilling the requirements of the wind and solar data monitoring campaigns conducted by the company.

Design:

– Preliminary layouts of wind, PV and battery storage facilities.
– Design and optimisation of layouts including access and internal roads and internal electrical reticulation, substations, laydown areas etc, in accordance with requirements of permit applications and load constraints.

Contract Management / Procurement:

– External study management including, but not limited to, electrical studies, topographical surveys, geological/geotechnical and acoustic studies.

Bid Preparations:

– General support for other departments on analytical and technical topics
– Analysis and interrogation of information and pricing provided by contractors.

Asset Management:

– Economic analyses and performance calculation for operating of facilities.
– Support of Asset Management team on technical and data analysis topics

Any other analytical and technical tasks as may be required by management from time to time.

Must-have Qualifications and Certifications:

  • At least a degree in an Engineering or Science field (BEng, BSc or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Masters or PhD
