World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Inclusive Conservation Intern.   The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has a long history of working on community-based conservation and in other ways that are inclusive of diverse stakeholders to achieve our conservation agenda. Since the rollout of our Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF) in on-the-ground work between 2019 and the present, WWF has turned its attention to how to not just do no harm but to better do good – e.g., achieve our vision of people living in harmony with nature and our aspirations around the realization of human rights – throughout all of our work and partnerships.  

Humboldt Research Fellowship – €3,170 monthly for experienced researchers and €2,670 monthly for postdocs: all countries eligible (except Germany and Brazil)

Given the diversity of issues that the Policy staff covers, research, and analysis may entail working with legislation, regulations, and potentially court cases.

By contrast research, analysis, and support may include assessment of government agencies’ roles, policies, and positions on issues relating to WWF’s mission and writing of brief materials about U.S. government agencies. Outreach may entail covering congressional hearings and markups, and preparing and attending congressional, administration, and NGO coalition briefings.

Subject matter will cover many of the issues in which WWF is involved, including biodiversity conservation (e.g., endangered species and habitat protection), natural resource management (e.g., fisheries, forestry, and agriculture), environment and security, climate change, and energy.

WWF’s corporate due diligence approach examines potential corporate partners’ structure and operations as well as its environmental, social and governance policy, performance, and impacts.

This paid internship provides an opportunity to practice project coordination and administrative skills in a professional setting, gain knowledge about corporate sustainability, global environmental issues, and contribute to WWF’s mission. The intern will work closely with members of WWF’s Private Sector Engagement and Development Teams. The work will involve processing requests and developing internal WWF resources and tools for corporate due diligence.
